AI credits are how Mobbin measures AI-powered feature usage. Each plan includes a monthly allowance, and Deep Search is currently the only feature that uses credits. A successful Deep Search uses 5 credits, whether you search on mobbin.com or through Mobbin MCP. Standard Search, along with browsing, saving to collections, and downloading screens, stays at 0 credits. Your plan’s access to these features still applies. We’re introducing AI credits gradually, with an official grace period starting on 5 October 2026. During this time, you can keep using Deep Search beyond your included allowance without extra charges. You don’t need to do anything or change your plan.

Why we’re introducing AI credits

AI-powered searches take more resources to run than standard searches, and those costs grow as usage increases. Introducing AI credits lets us keep a meaningful amount of AI usage in paid plans, while giving customers who use these features more heavily the flexibility to access additional usage when they need it.

How the grace period works

The official grace period starts on 5 October 2026. We currently expect it to run for around six months, though we may adjust the length based on feedback and usage. We’ll confirm the end date and let you know in advance before limits take effect. During the grace period:
  • You can see your included credits and usage in Mobbin.
  • Deep Search will continue working even after you use your included monthly allowance, on both the website and MCP.
  • You won’t be charged for going over your allowance.
  • You don’t need to buy extra credits or upgrade your plan.
This gives you time to see how credits work and how your usual usage compares with your allowance. Once the grace period ends, credit limits will apply from the announced date. If you’ve already used your allowance for that month, Deep Search will pause until your credits reset the following month. You can read more under After the grace period.

Impact on your current subscription

You don’t need to make any changes to your current Mobbin subscription as a result of the introduction of AI credits. During the grace period, you can continue using Deep Search beyond your included allowance without extra charges or a plan upgrade. Standard Search and browsing continue to use 0 credits. After the grace period, Deep Search will be subject to your monthly credit allowance, including if you’re partway through a quarterly or yearly subscription. Running out of credits won’t automatically change your plan or add a charge to your bill. Any changes to subscription pricing will be communicated separately.

Credits included with each plan

Each Mobbin plan includes a set number of credits each month. These are your included amounts. During the grace period, you can keep using Deep Search beyond them without extra charges.

When your credit resets

Your included AI credits reset every month, even if you pay for your subscription quarterly or annually. For paid plans, credits reset on the same day of the month your subscription started. For example, if your subscription started on 17 September, your credits reset on the 17th of each month. Unused credits don’t roll over. If your plan includes 300 credits and you have 50 left before your reset, your balance resets to 300 credits, not 350.

Credits for Team and Enterprise

Each member receives their own allowance of 600 credits per month. Credits aren’t shared across the workspace and can’t be pooled or transferred between members.

What uses AI credits?

Mobbin has two search types: Standard Search and Deep Search. Only Deep Search uses AI credits. If we introduce other features that use credits, we’ll explain their costs here. Standard Search is the default way to search Mobbin. It matches your query against screens, flows, and sections, and works well for straightforward searches where you know what you’re looking for. On mobbin.com, all searches other than the Deep Search free-text search use 0 AI credits. On MCP, Standard Search includes:
  • search_screens with mode: "standard"
  • search_flows
  • search_sections
Standard Search stays available when your AI credits run out, subject to your plan’s access. Deep Search is designed for more nuanced or specific queries. It performs additional processing using LLMs & inference to understand the intent behind your search and evaluate potential results for relevance before returning the strongest matches. For example, you might search for “onboarding screens where users can skip steps but still complete setup later.” Each Deep Search that successfully returns results uses 5 credits. This works the same way on the website and through MCP.

When credits are used

Credits are used when your search successfully returns results. You don’t need to save, copy, or download a result for it to count. Repeating a search counts as a new search. For example, running the same Deep Search twice uses 10 credits in total if both searches return results.

When credits are not used

Deep Search uses 5 AI credits each time it successfully returns results, whether on mobbin.com or through Mobbin MCP. Standard Search uses 0 credits on both. No credits are deducted if:
  • Your search returns no results.
  • An error on Mobbin’s side prevents results from being returned.
If you retry an unsuccessful search and it successfully returns results, that search uses 5 credits. During the grace period, searches will not be blocked for insufficient credits. Deep Search will continue working even after you use your included allowance.

Using credits through MCP

Mobbin MCP lets you search Mobbin directly from supported AI tools and coding agents. Connecting through MCP does not make every search a Deep Search. Only Deep Search calls do. Deep Search on the website and through MCP uses the same allowance for the Mobbin account you’re signed in with. Credits are counted per search call, not per message you send to your AI tool. If your AI tool makes several search calls to complete one request, each successful Deep Search call uses 5 credits. Standard Search calls use 0 credits. For example:
  • One successful Deep Search plus two Standard Searches uses 5 credits.
  • Three successful Deep Searches use 15 credits, even if they were triggered by one message.
The cost per call does not increase with the number of results. The same rules for unsuccessful searches apply to Deep Search through MCP. During the grace period, MCP calls will continue working even if you exceed your included monthly allowance. You may see a notification when you approach or exceed your allowance, but this will not prevent calls from going through.

API usage

API access is available to Team and Enterprise customers. It’s separate from AI credits and doesn’t use your included allowance. API pricing will be handled separately. We’ll share more details when they’re available.

After the grace period

Once credit limits are enforced, features that require AI credits will use your included credits. These limits apply to Deep Search on both the website and MCP. They will not apply during the grace period.

Getting extra credits

We’re planning to offer extra AI credits as an optional purchase for customers on paid plans. This would let you continue using Deep Search beyond your included monthly allowance without upgrading your subscription. Pricing and purchase details aren’t available yet. We’ll share these before credit limits take effect. During the grace period, you don’t need to purchase extra credits. You can keep using Deep Search beyond your allowance without additional charges. Running out of credits won’t automatically trigger a purchase or charge.

Checking your credit usage

As AI credits become available during the rollout, you can find your allowance and usage under Settings → Billing & usage. During the grace period, use this information to understand how often you use Deep Search and whether your allowance fits your normal workflow. Usage above the allowance will not result in an additional charge during this period.

Understanding your included credits

At 5 credits per successful Deep Search, your monthly allowance covers: For example, if you’re on Pro and run 20 successful Deep Searches on the website and 10 through MCP, you use 150 credits in total. You have 150 credits left, enough for another 30 successful Deep Searches in that monthly credit period. Standard Search, browsing, saving, and downloading do not reduce that balance. These examples describe what the included allowance covers. During the grace period, you can continue using Deep Search beyond these amounts without additional charges.

FAQ

No features will be blocked because you’ve used your AI credit allowance. During the grace period starting on 5 October 2026, Deep Search will keep working beyond your included credits without extra charges.

No. Running out of credits will not automatically trigger a purchase, a plan upgrade, or an additional charge.
Included credits reset monthly. For paid plans, this follows the day of the month your subscription started, even if you pay quarterly or annually. See When your credit resets for the reset rules.
No. Unused included credits expire when your monthly allowance resets. For example, if your plan includes 300 credits and you have 50 left before your reset, your balance resets to 300 credits, not 350.
No. Each member receives 600 included credits per month. These cannot be pooled, shared, or transferred between members.
Only Deep Search calls do. A successful search_screens call with mode: "deep" uses 5 credits. Standard search_screens, search_flows, and search_sections calls use 0 credits.
No. It depends on which Mobbin searches the tool runs. A request using only Standard Search uses 0 Mobbin AI credits. If it triggers multiple successful Deep Search calls, each uses 5 credits.
No AI credits are used if the search returns no results or an error on Mobbin’s side prevents results from being returned. See When credits are not used.
No. Each successful Deep Search call uses 5 credits, regardless of how many results it returns. A call that returns no results uses 0 credits. Requesting additional results, such as clicking “Load more” on mobbin.com or your agent making another MCP tool call in Deep Search mode, uses another 5 credits if that request returns results.
No. API usage is separate from AI credits and will have its own pricing model.
Yes. Standard Search, browsing, saving to collections, and downloading screens use 0 AI credits. Your plan’s feature access still applies.
Credit limits will apply from the announced end date of the grace period. That date hasn’t been confirmed yet, and we’ll give you advance notice.
